Choco- Coco Energy Bar

The way I maintain my weight is to eat regularly. This means three snacks a day. But what if you're on the road? Either the snack slips in or you choose the wrong snack (read: rancidity from the gas station). So I was looking for something healthy that I can easily put in a container or in a foil in my bag for 'on the road'. I then came up with this TOO delicious Choco-Coco bar. Tastier than the Mars at the gas station and certainly 1000 times better for your body.

The dates and figs together with the maca replace the sugars and the maca also ensures that you can continue to work very hard for hours because maca is a natural energy supplier. Of course, the dates, coconut and sunflower seeds also make you feel satiated. Furthermore, the chia seeds and raw cacao make these bars mega healthy. When I make these bars I make sure to make large and small ones. Occasionally I eat these for breakfast too, can be really tasty, but then I need a slightly larger version. Of course the small (or big) ones are also delicious as a treat with tea!

I always store them in a container in the fridge and then you can keep them for a really long time! I usually finish them within 2 weeks, so definitely 2 weeks.

Ingredients

The recipe is for about 12 pieces of round snacks and 8 straight bars.

  • 100 grams of dates without seeds
  • 100 grams of dried figs
  • 20 grams of grated coconut
  • 50 grams of pumpkin seeds (possibly toasted for an even more intense flavor)
  • 100 grams of raw cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon of maca
  • 20 grams of chia seeds

How to

  1. Melt the cocoa over low heat in a saucepan with the maca.

  2. Put the dates and figs in a food processor and puree until completely fine. Put the mixture in a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients except the cocoa. Stir everything well.

  3. Make sure the cocoa is completely melted and let it cool a bit. Then add this to the mixture, stir it well once more and pour it into a rectangular dish lined with kitchen paper or into a silicone muffin tin (or paper muffin tins) for the round version. press it well and put this in the refrigerator for at least two hours (if you're in a hurry, they can also be put in the freezer for half an hour). After that, they are ready.
